ALEXANDRE BENJAMIN NAVET

LES ESCALIERS MASSÉNA

(2026)

Created in May 2026, this large-scale painted décor occupies the store’s heritage grand staircase1 , extending from level -1 to the 1st floor.

The work draws its inspiration from the Mediterranean ornamentation. It enters into dialogue with the historic décor already present near the windows, while echoing the luminous palette of Place Masséna and the city’s colourful façades.

Deployed on a grand scale, the décor combines brushwork, spontaneous line and colourful composition. True to the distinctive style of Alexandre Benjamin Navet, it unites drawing, colour and architecture in a free, vibrant and generous artistic language.

This work forms part of the renovation of the Nice Masséna store2. It contributes to the reinvention of this emblematic location, offering visitors an immersive experience in which art and architecture converge, embodying the spirit of wonder that has always defined the store’s history.

This carte blanche offers the artist the opportunity to transpose his poetic and colorful artistic language into the great tradition of French decorative arts.
